The common narrative of the fight between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone has been that Conor dictates the fight on the feet and Cowboy dominates on the ground.

Conor McGregor is one of the best fighters in the early rounds. He is one of the finest strikers in the game and he is likely to dominate Cowboy who is a slow starter. But if Cowboy takes Conor down early and controls the fight on the ground, then he will eventually get a submission. This has been the common notion among the fans on how the fight may go between Conor and Cowboy. However, Donald Cerrone does not feel that the fight is going to play out as predicted.

“I can’t just walk in and miss all his punches and shoot an f***g takedown. It does not work like that,” added Cowboy.
