UFC two-division champion, Amanda Nunes, spoke to Aaron Bronsteter from TSN as she prepares to compete at UFC 259. ‘The Lioness’ takes on Megan Anderson in the co-main event of a card that is heavily stacked. Chiefly, there are four champions competing on the card with three titles on the line, and Nunes is one of those four names.
The aforementioned featherweight fight poses several intriguing questions, especially when looking at Megan Anderson’s stature for the division. Anderson towers over the champion, and Nunes will have to figure out how to put forth an effective offense against the Australian. However, the odds are heavily in her favor and fans expect another dominant performance under her belt.

Amanda Nunes speaks out on motherhood
‘The Lioness’, who welcomed a child last year with her partner Nina Ansaroff, has a new motivation every time she fights. What’s more, Amanda Nunes decided to bring her baby along with her during fight week, a rather uncommon occurrence. Bronsteter asked Nunes to elaborate on what it meant to be fighting with a renewed sense of motivation.

“Everything about being a mother, I cannot say only one thing is making me like so happy. It’s the best decision that I ever made. I feel like honestly, everything, being a part of this moment. Raising a baby, a little human, it’s amazing. We enjoy every single day. Me and Nina fight all the time to have her in the arm.”

While it’s clear that Nunes is overjoyed about being a mother, questions have begun to circulate about her longevity in the sport. She has flirted with the idea of retirement, and it’s possible that she’s reaching the end of her historic run. Regardless of the number of fights she has left, Amanda Nunes has truly solidified her spot as the GOAT in women’s MMA.
