“Not opponent. I would say he will probably fight, we would like him to fight in late October or November. But he will fight before the end of the year.”

This recent signing by Bellator caused some back and forth between the aforementioned organizations. UFC President Dana White went off on Scott Coker after the latter claimed to have a better stable of 205-pounders. The 30-year-old from Rockton, Illinois has gone 4-1 in his last five outings. He most recently suffered a punishing first-round KO at the hands of Jan Blachowicz. Prior to the loss, Anderson was in line for contention and held wins over Glover Teixeira, Ilir Latifi, and prospect Johnny Walker.

Furthermore, the UFC’s 205-pound division is now more open-ended than ever following the departure of Jon Jones. Several long-standing divisional contenders are now primed for a massive opportunity to make a splash. “Overtime” may have a faster track to a gold strap, however, considering he will receive a massive booking.

Corey Anderson has an opportunity to face some massive names such as former UFC champion Lyoto Machida and Ryan Bader. What’s more, should he scalp wins over said fighters, his profile will immediately receive a massive spike. Fight fans will be on the lookout as to a massive booking that is on the cards for “Overtime.”
