The All American, Chris Weidman is back and this time he makes his light heavyweight debut against the unbeaten, Dominick Reyes in the main event of UFC Boston. Coming from a tough loss against Jacare Souza, Chris Weidman will be looking for a fresh start in the 205 division, which lacks the star attraction when compared to other divisions in UFC. It’s safe to say that if Weidman wins the fight then he is next in line for the title shot and the same can be said for Dominick Reyes.

UFC Boston also features a rematch between Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens. The first fight between these two ended up in a no-contest after Stephens was unable to continue due to an unintentional eye poke from Rodriguez. However, that generated bad blood between these two featherweights and they will be stepping into the octagon with some bad intentions for sure.

Here is the UFC Boston full fight card.

UFC Boston Main Card & Predictions:

Main Event: Chris Weidman vs Dominick Reyes (Light heavyweight):

In the main event of UFC Boston, we have Chris Weidman who takes on Dominick Reyes in a fight that possibly will give us the next challenger for Jon Jones.

Now there are these concerns around Weidman whether he can hang around with the guys at 205 and rightfully so. not so long ago we saw former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold knocked out brutally in his 205 debuts. However, there are some success stories about the transition from 185 to 205 too such as Thiago Santos and Anthony Johnson.

Chris Weidman is much more well rounded than Reyes. His ground game is second to none and his striking is not a joke either. on the other hand, Reyes has been impressive, however, he struggled against Oezdemir. The majority of fans even had him losing that fight. Considering all that, Weidman gets the job done in the main event.

Co-Main Event: Jeremy Stephens vs Yair Rodriguez (Featherweight):

The first fight between these two fighters generated one of the most notorious rivalries in the featherweight division. Unlike the first time, there will be animosity before the rematch. it might play a factor in the fight, but Rodriguez is likely to get the job done.

Stephens has struggled in 3 round fights to get a win on judges’ cards and a 3 round fight favors Rodriguez. This fight will be somewhat similar to the fight between Stephens vs Zabit, and Rodriguez is likely to win via decision.

Greg Hardy vs Ben Sosoli (Heavyweight):

This will be the fourth fight for Greg Hardy this year and he is likely to win this fight too. He is a superior athlete, he is powerful and he might knock out Sosoli in this fight.

Joe Lauzon vs Jonathon Pearce (Lightweight):

Joe Lauzon(27-15) is the experienced one in this competition against Jonathon Pearce(9-3) and he is going to get the job done. It’s likely to be a quick win for Joe Lauzon.

Maycee Barber vs Gillian Robertson (Women Flyweight):

Maycee Barber is the up and coming female fighter in the flyweight division with an unbeaten record of 7 wins and 0 losses. Maycee Barber did struggle in his last fight, yet she got the job done in the end. This might be the coming-out party for Barber is he wins the fight.

Prediction: Maycee Barber

Deron Winn vs Darren Stewart (Middleweight):

Deron is coming off a huge win against Eric Spicely. However, he is going to have a size disadvantage against Darren Stewart and this is a bad matchup for Winn. Deron Winn has good wrestling in his arsenal, however, it’s unlikely he going to trouble Stewart with it. Stewart is a more powerful striker, a better striker and he is likely to get the job done in this middleweight bout.
