Donald Cerrone is one of the most active fighters in the UFC roster at present. He last fought at UFC 246 against Conor McGregor.

The fight wasn’t really one of Cerrone’s better performances. McGregor wound up the fight within 40 seconds of the first round. He knocked down “Cowboy” Cerrone and entered a vicious ground and pound to win the fight by TKO. The fight was McGregor’s first after a long time and maybe that is what provided him the extra edge over Cerrone.

Still, Cerrone’s most recent fights have not been entirely impressive. He has consecutively lost his last three battles. Even though they were against formidable opponents like Tony Ferguson, McGregor and Justin Gaethje, a stretch of losses is always a bearer of negativity and demotivation.

Donald Cerrone is under suspension for six months owing to the nose and orbital injuries he received post-UFC 246. Yet, in his recent Instagram post, Cerrone hinted at an early return.

The 36-year-old seems eager to get back to fighting as soon as possible. This is much expected from a personality who has been one of the most active presences inside the octagon. But his next fight can turn out to be an extremely crucial point of his career.

Cerrone requires to break the streak of losses he’s currently in, as the competition keeps getting tougher by the minute. He is one of the most experienced fighters currently active and needs to ensure that his next fight does not ignite retirement calls from the UFC Universe.

Thus, Cerrone needs to be extremely careful about whom and when he fights next. An impatient move might cause his career to spiral downwards to an ultimate dead end.
