Doctors across the globe and experts on concussions have spoken out against the brutal sport of slap fighting. This violent form of combat has recently gained popularity in the United States. However, doctors argue that it poses a significant risk to participants’ health and safety. Moreover, this comes to the light after one of the biggest promoters in combat sports, Dana White launches his own Power Slap League. White will have to be wary of these concerns.

On Monday, a slap fighting event in Romania drew widespread attention when footage of the event was shared online. The video showed one participant, Sorin Comsa, with a disfigured face covered in chalk and blood. His cheek was swollen and his face was barely recognizable. Such images are a stark reminder of the damage that this violent sport can inflict. Doctors urge caution and urge people to rethink their participation in slap fighting. The dangers of the sport are too significant to ignore, and the risks far outweigh any potential rewards.

Dr. Brian Sutterer, a sports doctor, has expressed his strong opposition to the sport of slap fighting. He believes it to be the most senseless sport in the world and argues that no commission should support it.

What do we always say here in combat sports, whether it’s boxing, mixed martial arts or whatever? It’s ‘protect yourself at all times,” says Dr. Sutterer. He goes on to point out the many dangers and risks associated with slap fighting. Moreover, the fact that participants are not allowed to defend themselves makes it even more absurd.
