Chael Sonnen Fans Back Up Conor McGregor to Return to the Octagon Before Jon Jones and Henry Cejudo

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is hyping up his return to the octagon this year after being away for more than a year. However, he is not the only fighter who is said to make a comeback this year. The former double champion, Henry Cejudo, and the light-heavyweight GOAT, Jon Jones, will also look to make a comeback.

In a recent poll put up by the former UFC fighter, and renowned analyst, Chael Sonnen, fans gave their take on who will return to the promotion first.

Chael Sonnen’s fans backed Conor McGregor to return to the octagon sooner than Henry Cejudo and Jon Jones. All three fighters have been hyping up their return, however, McGregor is the most discussed among the three.

The Irishman had temporarily put his gloves aside to recover from the injury he incurred at UFC 261. McGregor suffered a broken leg early in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier. The injury has been keeping him away from full-fledged training ever since. Now, the fighter will be able to start kicking and grappling soon.

Jon Jones has been away from UFC action for a while now. The last time he was in the octagon was when he room down Dominic Reyes by a unanimous section at UFC 246. Jones has been involved in many controversies and had many run-ins with the law. This has tampered with his UFC return.

The former flyweight and bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo, last fought in May 2020. After his win over Dominick Cruz, Henry announced retirement. However, the fighter recently entered the USADA testing pool and is targeting a return to action soon.

The Irishman has been enjoying his $400 million lifestyle while he’s been away from fighting in the UFC. The fighter was recently vacationing in Monaco and attended the Monaco Grand Prix. Here he discussed his return with Sky Sports and gave fans some positive news.

“The body is doing good. We are going to up the training a little bit by bit. I have another CT scan in the coming days and then I will be clear to kick. Once I can kick and grapple, I will be back in no time. Boxing training is going well and strength training. I am excited to get back,” said the Irishman.
