UFC welterweight Colby Covington took to the airwaves with Helen Yee and went in on the divisional champion Kamaru Usman. Covington looked back at his fight with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ that took place back at UFC 245. As it stands, Colby Covington gave Kamaru Usman the hardest fight of his entire title run.
This feat is increasingly impressive when looking at the names Kamaru Usman has faced during his time as champion. He won the belt from Tyron Woodley and has defeated both Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns. All the aforementioned fighters bring a varied portfolio of skills to the table, however, they weren’t able to push the champion.

“I know Marty ‘Fakenewsman’ doesn’t want to see me back in that octagon. He knows he got me on my worst night and it was his best night and he still shouldn’t have beat me. I was beating him 3-1, Marc ‘Not so Goddard’ saved his life. I kick him in the liver, they call a nutshot. I barely touch his eye, he’s faking an eye on the other eye. Like selling and acting, he’s a terrible actor.”
“And then the early stoppage man, I hit the ground, he clipped me but it was more of exhaustion. I was completely tired, but I was still in the fight. He’s throwing strikes to the back of the head and I’m intelligently defending myself and then Marc ‘Not so Goddard’ stops the fight…this chapter is unturned. The fans know that this fight needs to happen.”
