What happened to Colby Covington’s jaw?
While his leg was injured during their second bout, it was his jaw injury during UFC 245 that still has people talking. According to several reports, Usman’s punch connected square with Covington’s jaw and broke it. However, ‘Chaos’ has denied that his jaw broke.
As reported by Bloody Elbow, examination by the UFC medical staff post-fight found that the fighter had endured a ‘non-displaced midline mandible fracture’. However, Covington has challenged this and in an interview with ESPN, he said (h/t Bloody Elbow), “Nothing was broken. The only thing that was broken was Marty’s pride that night because he doesn’t want to run this back in round two and he got forced to.”
