Leon Edwards sealed off yet another win against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 in London. He silenced his critiques and won the fight via a unanimous decision. However, former interim champion Colby Covington also attended the fight since the fighting promotion brought in him as a backup fighter for the main event. He now has his eyes set on Leon Edwards’ welterweight title and reacted to Kamaru Usman’s loss.

Edwards showcased tremendous striking ability, grappling defense, and distance management in his fight against Kamaru Usman. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had worked years to record a 19-fight winning streak (15-fight winning streak in UFC) and remained undefeated in the UFC until his loss at UFC 278, which was one of the greatest comebacks ever.

The judges deducted a point from Edwards after he grabbed the fence. However, he successfully avoided most of the takedown attempts made by Kamaru Usman. Even though he won, none of the fighters’ performances impress Colby Covington. He made an appearance during the UFC 286 broadcast and shared a few words about the main event and reacted to Kamaru Usman’s consecutive loss.

‘Chaos’ stated that he didn’t see any extraordinary performance from ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in the main event. He said, “I didn’t see anything special. I see a guy [Kamaru Usman] that isn’t hungry anymore.” Covington thinks that Usman is just fighting to make money and doesn’t look as hungry as he was a few years ago. He added, “It looks like he got the title and he made his money, he’s kind of cashed out. “

Covington also claimed that the judges may have been biased with their scores since Leon Edwards was fighting in front of his home crowd. “Of course, he’s [Leon Edwards] going to get some home-cooking judging. He got his home affair. Now it’s time to come see the man,” said ‘Chaos’. He claimed that the Englishman needs to fight him next.

Considering it is his only second loss under the UFC banner, it was surprising to hear Colby Covington claim that the former champion didn’t see him hungry enough to reclaim his title. ‘Chaos’ even took notice of the fact that Edwards had been working to cancel out Usman’s offense. Moreover, he wants his championship bout to take place at International Fight Week in July. Edwards reacted to facing ‘Chaos’ after his win at UFC 286.
