Recently, news broke out that UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar, is no more. There couldn’t have been a more devastating end of 2022 for the UFC than this. The UFC community is disheartened by Bonnar’s passing, and UFC president Dana White has also expressed his sorrow at the tragic loss of “The American Psycho”.

Just a couple of days before the news surfaced, Dana White recounted in an interview a time when he believed he would have died. It is safe to say that White sits at the top of the combat sports business. And in pursuit of doing so, he took some extreme measures. Even during the tumultuous COVID era, when the world was being shut down, he managed to keep the UFC going. White kept doing what needed to be done, despite the fact that the odds were stacked against him in this situation. And upon doing so, he risked his life to the extreme.

Dana White means business when it comes to the UFC. And he doesn’t take “no” for an answer. In an interview with Grant Cardone, the UFC president talked about how he does what he does. White has a strong conviction that there is a solution to every issue. This hustle mindset of his is what Dana White credits for being able to run the UFC successfully even during COVID. White stated that COVID was the “hardest thing” he had to tackle in his career. But also claimed that he never wore a mask the entire time during COVID. It caused him to test positive and gave him the impression that his life was in danger.

“Yeah, I got COVID. I worked out twice a day. I worked out two a day the entire time I had COVID. And talking to Gary Brecka, when I looked at my health, you know, my blood work, if anybody should’ve died during COVID, it probably should’ve been me. (But) I felt great during COVID.”, said the UFC president.

The UFC managed to hold 42 of the 43 events that were scheduled for that year, including Las Vegas. Which was a farfetched idea for many to carry out such a mammoth task, especially during COVID. But given Vegas is the hub of the UFC, Dana White did it.

Dana White’s love for Las Vegas

The UFC president is a big believer in the American Dream. He feels anyone can make it big in this country, especially in Las Vegas. Dana White revealed how Las Vegas serves as an ideal destination to get riches if one knows just the right thing to do here.

The 53-year-old stated, “One of the things that I love about the city of Las Vegas, there’s many things that I love about the city. But, first of all, you can come here, it doesn’t matter what college you went to, who you know or any of that kind of stuff. Vegas is like a mini America, man. If you come here with the right idea and work hard enough and you get out there and you kill it. Anybody can make money in this town.”

And coming from a man like himself, who’s done what he said, there is no way one can doubt that advice.
