UFC President Dana White is ready to promote another form of combat. Despite being involved in mixed martial arts for nearly two decades, UFC President Dana White is not shying away from trying new things. 

He spearheads the UFC – one of the biggest MMA promotions in the world. Perhaps it is safe to say that he knows how to run a business. Thus, the veteran promoter launching the ‘Power Slap League’ did not surprise combat enthusiasts. Though, it received a mixed reception from the fight fans.

The Connecticut-born took over UFC back in the day when it was riddled with controversies. In his own words, the image of the promotion was so bad that nobody was willing to provide him with a venue to conduct events; White had to struggle for broadcasters. However, he believed in his ideas and received the necessary help from the Fertitta brothers.

Eventually, White turned the promotion into a billion-dollar empire and now perhaps he could do the same with his new idea, which he is very high on.

While fans always wait to check White’s social space for updates regarding UFC fights, this video did not sit well with fans.

Dana White fires back at the critics

UFC president Dana White has retaliated back at his critics by claiming that the sport is far more safer than other combat sports such as boxing.

Although the sport has yet to garner an audience and popularity compared to boxing, it might be safer to indulge in according to the UFC President. This sport includes 2 participants who take a turn slapping at each other with as much power as they can gather.

He said, “The bottom line is, in a boxing match, guys get hit with 300-400 punches in a f****** fight. These guys are going to get hit with three slaps.”

Furthermore, the chance of getting a serious injury is reduced in comparison to other combat sports. Instead of being able to hit at any part of the body like in MMA or risking the upper part of the body in boxing, the participants aim at the cheek of their opponents.

The 53-year-old promoter has got The Nevada State Athletic Commission on his side as well. In addition, NSAC will be responsible for regulating the brand-new league.
