Former Double Champion Conor McGregor on the Verge of Losing an Important Title After Recent Ranking Updates

Conor McGregor has been a superstar in the UFC. The man who was the first fighter to become a two-division champion. Mystic Mac, however, has been away from the Octagon for a while now. His absence is now taking a toll on his rankings. Conor McGregor is now ranked #14 out of 15 ranked fighters. The situation has now put him in danger of being unranked.

Conor McGregor will be an unranked fighter if he slips two more positions. The situation arose after UFC rankings were revealed following UFC’s last pay-per-view event. UFC rankings have to be updated within 48 hours of UFC’s last event. McGregor has been out of the fighting game and is not visibly close to a comeback.

McGregor slipping down the rankings could be good news for a lot of fighters who would like to line up a fight with Conor McGregor. Mystic Mac will need a string of outstanding performances when he gets back to the UFC if he eyeing a title shot again.

Conor McGregor may not be back soon

McGregor was placed at the 7th spot after his loss to Dustin Poirier and has fallen another 7 places in the recent list. ‘The Notorious’ is not going to be back in the ring till late 2023 since he is not in the USADA pool right now and will need to spend at least 6 months in the testing pool before he gets back in the Octagon.

McGregor has bulked up to 190 lbs in his lengthy lay-off. McGregor will look to join the 170 lb division. His last win came against Donald Cerrone in the 170 lbs division. Conor McGregor came out victorious.

Conor McGregor has been out of the Octagon for a while now, but he isn’t inactive. ‘The Notorious’ has recently completed the shooting for his Hollywood debut alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. The Hollywood flick is going to be a remake of the 80s classic, Roadhouse.

UFC president Dana White has given hopeful statements about Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC. Dana White said, “He’s been posting videos of himself training and he’s just done filming a movie. He definitely wants to come back next year.” The UFC president’s statement will be a respite for McGregor fans. If McGregor comes back to the octagon or not and if he does, when and against whom? Fans will want answers.
