Joe Rogan and Dana White made it to 2021’s Variety 500 list of most powerful people in entertainment

The UFC president and color commentator both made it to the 2021 list of 500 most powerful people in the entertainment industry published by the noted website ‘variety.com’. Both Dana White and Joe Rogan were enlisted under the category of Live Entertainment. White was awarded his spot for his all-unique and bold stance of not making COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for UFC fighters.

White stated that “the Ultimate Fighting Championship would never require its fighters to be vaccinated”. His measures also created controversies amongst the masses. But, ‘the UFC boss’ went on to hold full-scale UFC events without the mandate of social distancing or masks right from 2021.

‘The JRE host’ also had also presented similar views on the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. In an episode of his podcast, Rogan stated that he also had COVID-19 and was using ivermectin to treat it. ‘JRE’ had also been criticized by lots and even inspired protests from Spotify employees who accused it of being transphobic. Despite all this, the podcast hardly took a hit on its viewer count. It was the proof of Rogan’s influence as a podcaster that earned him his spot on this list.
