Alexander Volkanovski has another new challenger wanting to fight him for the title.

The UFC featherweight champion, Volkanovski, was booked to take on Max Holloway at UFC 272. Both men have fought each other twice before, with ‘The Great’ coming out on top on both occasions. The Australian mixed martial artist cemented his position as one of the greatest featherweights of all time after his last performance. He defeated Brian Ortega at UFC 266 via unanimous decision and ever since then, fans had been wanting to see him throw it down with Holloway once again.

Blessed‘ then took on Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 197, in what was an absolute war. Both went didn’t take a step back throughout the fight and put on a show for the fans. Holloway was able to come out on top and, in a way, guaranteed his place as the number one contender. The UFC announced the fight between him and the champion for UFC 272 just a few days back. But unfortunately for everyone, Holloway had to withdraw from the fight after re-aggravating a previous injury.

Yair Rodriguez wants a piece of Alexander Volkanovski

With every top contender looking to fill in for Max Holloway, there is one guy that felt disrespected by the champion looking to fight ‘The Korean Zombie.’ And that fighter is Yair Rodriguez. ‘El Pantera’ recently entered the octagon to take on Holloway and both of them produced one of the Fights of the Year contenders.

However, after the champion’s callout to Jung, Rodriguez took to social media to mount his displeasure. He said, “Do I really need to raise my hand @danawhite? Heal up quick champ @blessedmma. @alexvolkanovski I had respect for you before, but now, f**k you! You little b**ch you know I’m next.”
