Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler 2 was one of the most talked fights in 2021. They met each other at UFC 266 for a rematch of their first bout, which took place back in 2004 at UFC 47. Even though Nick Diaz lost the fight via TKO in the third round, many fighters came out and praised Nick’s performance, considering he was stepping inside the octagon after over six years. Kamaru Usman was one of them.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ posted a video on social media where he reacted to Nick’s loss against Lawler at UFC 266.

Kamaru, in the video, said, “Six years and some change, Nick was still throwing them things. I was impressed. I was impressed. Of course, the pace that Lawler put on him, there is no way Nick was gonna be able to stay with that pace after being gone for so long.”

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ reacts to Diaz’s pre-fight comments

During the buildup to the Lawler fight, Diaz, in an interview, said that he could beat the current UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.

Nick said, “I think I’ll beat the sh*t out of Usman. I have a better shot of beating Usman than I do Lawler because I already beat Lawler. This doesn’t make sense for me to go in there and fight Robbie Lawler again… I should be fighting Kamaru Usman and that’s it.”

Kamaru quickly reacted to the video and responded by saying, “I like that energy!!!” on his Twitter.

Following Nick’s loss, it’s unlikely that he will face Kamaru Usman anytime soon. Moreover, fans aren’t aware of whether the elder Diaz will return to the octagon.
