UFC heavyweight, Derrick Lewis, talked to reporters after his victory against Curtis Blaydes at UFC Vegas 19. ‘The Black Beast’ knocked out Curtis Blaydes in the second round with a vicious uppercut.

Blaydes was dominating the fight, but Lewis was on the lookout for a takedown attempt, and he punished ‘Razor’ Blaydes when he tried it. The reporter asked him about that maneuver, and Lewis responded that he planned to do it all along.

Now, the heavyweight is on the road for a title shot and is open to fight anyone and everyone.

When quizzed if he would want to fight the former light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, Lewis replied, “It doesn’t matter who. I’ll fight anyone. It doesn’t matter who they all are, I won’t fight no woman, but any guy could get it. I don’t care who it is.

A reporter asked him again if he would fight Jon Jones, and Derrick replied, “I’ll fight anyone, yeah, anyone.

After this win against Curtis Blaydes, Lewis has no direct opponents in the path towards the heavyweight crown. The current champion Stipe Miocic will defend his belt against Francis Ngannou at UFC 260. After the outcome of that fight, the clear no. 1 contender is Derrick Lewis. However, Jon Jones might come in to take his spot.

On the other hand, Lewis himself said that he would like to fight Alistair Overeem next because of the amount of trash talk ‘The Demolition Man’ laid bare on him. That would temporarily keep him away from a title fight, but Overeem has also hinted at his retirement and has a medical suspension from the octagon. Hence, a realistic timeline for the fight could be mid-2021.
