Mike Perry’s welterweight bout against Daniel Rodriguez will take place at the UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs Holland. Ahead of the fight, ‘Platinum’ Perry has been going through harsh training and a strict diet to make the weight for the event.

Sometimes, UFC fighters find it hard to follow a strict diet to make the weight for their bout, and this has happened to Mike Perry as well, who missed weight against Tim Means.

Platinum‘ thinks it is awful to go through a strict diet, and on the recent media day, he went on a spirited rant regarding his weight cut issues.

‘Platinum’ mentioned foods like stuffed crust cheese pizza, lasagna, and pasta which he cannot eat because of his strict diet. Perry has been consuming from zero to less than 50 grams of sugar every day. The fighter even attributed his trash-talking on Twitter to his strict diet.

Perry said, “I know I am talking trash on Twitter. I’ll be breaking down. You’ll be seeing me. I’m like a girl on my period on my Twitter when I’m on weight cut. Cause it’s just awful. It makes me wanna go up a weight class.”

‘Platinum’ doesn’t like to go through weight cuts, and he made that infinitely clear. In fact, he is even thinking of going up a weight class from the welterweight division to the middleweight division.

One of the best contenders in the middleweight division is Darren Till. He was supposed to face Vettori at UFC Fight Night but dropped out because of a collar bone injury. Kevin Holland then replaced Till for UFC Fight Night.

Since ‘Platinum’ is thinking of moving up a weight class, he wants to face the best in the middleweight division and he has a beef with ‘The Gorilla’ who used to ply his trade at 170 until 2019.

Perry said, “When I knock this fool out on Saturday and Darren Till’s collar bone heals, let’s make that fight happen at 185. I’ll eat a chicken sandwich in one hand and I’ll hit him in the face with the other.”

Darren Till has dropped out from his last two fights, and he now wants to get back in action. If Mike Perry wins his fight against Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night, Till might accept Perry’s challenge, and the UFC may book a fight between the two.
