UFC may be experiencing their own version of the Josh fights. UFC lightweight Rafael Fiziev called out former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos to discover who’s the best Rafael in the game. Reportedly, the spat began when Rafael dos Anjos posted a tweet on Twitter, asking for a fight against anyone in his weight category.

He tweeted,Jan/feb I want to fight anybody 155/170 @ufc”.

Just like any good fighter, Rafael Fiziev accepted the challenge and also took the opportunity to appreciate the former champ. He replied, Our fight deserves to be main event, champ. Let’s find out who’s the best Rafael in UFC”

However, things soon turned sour as the former champ didn’t take the reply sportingly and dismissed the challenge. He mentioned, The day you hang a belt on your wall I will look at your resume and let you know which of us is the best Rafael.”

To this, the #11 lightweight reminded ‘RDA’ of his original tweet and stated that it wasn’t 2015.

What happened to “I want to fight anybody” man? It’s not 2015 anymore, maybe stop living in the past?”

Should this bout go ahead, it can result in a great contest as well as create a viral meme.

What’s next for Rafael Fiziev?

Rafael Fiziev will end the year on grand terms as he has amassed two straight victories in 2021. ‘Ataman’ is coming off a fresh victory against his friend Brad Riddell at the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Font vs. Aldo.

Currently, the 28-year-old is ranked #11 on the lightweight charts. He proudly touts a five-fight winning streak in the UFC.

Fiziev (11-1) has been undefeated the past couple of years. He currently doesn’t have any match scheduled in the UFC. Given the rankings, a bout between him and the former champion could be booked.
