“It’ll be pretty hard to deny him [Kattar] that [title shot]. It would be pretty hard to deny him that. I know Zabit just beat him not too long ago, but the fact that Zabit isn’t fighting, I think if Zabit fought I think he would have jumped the line. There were so many guys right there it was like whoever took it first. Korean Zombie- Ortega, the UFC this is the number one contender because there’s no one else that’s it, Ortega put on a good performance and now he’s got the shot.”

Additionally, Alexander Volkanovski went into detail about how the upcoming featherweight bout would look like. Having faced Holloway on two occasions gives Volkanovski a unique perspective on the matter.

“In saying that Kattar goes good, so that’s gonna be a tough fight. That’s gonna be a good fight stylistically obviously with both of them with their hands. But I just believe Max is obviously a lot more well-rounded than people think. He never usually has to go other routes. But this fight we might see a different Max Holloway which is gonna be exciting but I mean Kattar is no joke. I definitely got my eye on Kattar.”

While the divisional champion sides with ‘Blessed’ Holloway to pick up the win it’s clear he recognizes Kattar’s skillset. Calvin Kattar out of the New England Cartel is certainly one of the brightest prospects who has exhibited high-level talent.
