Jon Jones has been out of action for almost two years now. He last entered the octagon on February 8, 2020, and defended his UFC light heavyweight title. ‘Bones’ got the better of Dominick Reyes in a controversial decision win.

After the win, he relinquished his title and announced that he’ll move up to the heavyweight division. However, he hasn’t fought since then and decided to sit out the whole of 2021. But now, there might be some great news for Jones fans. According to his advisor, Richard Schaefer, he’ll meet with the UFC in regards to a heavyweight title fight.

During an interview, he said, “He is willing, ready, and able to fight whoever we can get for the heavyweight title. The reason why I just don’t say Francis Ngannou; I’d love to put together a Francis Ngannou fight and I’m in conversations with the UFC. And as a matter of fact, I’m going to be meeting with them this weekend here in Los Angeles.”

“Jon wants to fight, and Jon wants to fight for the heavyweight title. And Jon is the kind of guy who fights anyone no problem.”

Ngannou is currently in a contract dispute with the UFC. He also is suffering from injuries and might require surgery. So it is unclear whether he will defend his title or it will be someone else facing the former light heavyweight champion. But Ngannou vs. Jones is the fight to make and the UFC might try everything possible to get it done.

Ciryl Gane is ready to fight Jon Jones

Ciryl Gane is coming off a disappointing loss at the hands of Francis Ngannou. The French fighter challenged for the UFC heavyweight title but came up short. He got out grappled by ‘The Predator‘ and lost the fight via a unanimous decision. However, the former interim heavyweight champion has not lost focus.

There is talk about Ngannou may be defending his title against Jones. ‘Bones’ has been angling for a move to the heavyweight division and is the favorite to challenge for the title next. However, there are contract issues between the champion and the UFC. And according to Gane’s coach Fernand Lopez, Gane would be willing to step in to fight Jones if the title fight doesn’t happen.

He said, “If they solve the problem with Francis, what they would like to do, what everyone would like to have, is Jon Jones vs. Francis. I’m realistic, Jon Jones is number one. This is how it works, it’s a business… If that does not happen, and they have any issues having Francis onboard in the company, then obviously, we are ready to take Jon Jones.”

A fight between Jones and Gane will definitely excite the fans. Both men are quick on their feet and excellent strikers. If they are unable to resolve the contract issue with Ngannou, they might look at a fight between the two.
