‘Of Course We’re Interested’- Dana White Finally Agrees to Make Dustin Poirier vs. Nate Diaz

Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz have been going back and forth with each other on social media. Nate Diaz has been pushing to land a fight with ‘The Diamond’. Diaz recently took to Twitter to call out the UFC and urged them to let him take on Poirier in a fight. 

Diaz with_replies,” @ufc stop playing wit me consider this my signature to fight this f*cker. I been trying to fight for a minute quit slowing down the real fight game it’s time.”

Looks like the UFC head honcho Dana White has some good news for the Stockton native. In a recent interview with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto, Dana White discussed the possibility of Diaz landing a fight with Poirier.

Okamoto asked White his interest level on Nate Diaz wanting to take on Poirier. White answered,” of course we’re interested. I mean this is what we do. We make fights every weekend. You know what happens is guys just want to jump out of nowhere and say, alright, I want to do this, I want to do that.”

“We have fights booked all the way up until like I want to say, May 2nd right now. You know everything is in place. Everything is done. I say this all the time. I’ve been saying this for 20 years. We have to get guys. We’re contracted to fight guys three times a year. They got to get fights. He’ll get a fight,” he added.

Poirier recently took to Twitter to tease the artwork for a fight against the Stockton Native. The artwork also mentioned that the fight will be at welterweight. Although, there has been to official news from the UFC that the bout is confirmed.

Diaz is currently on his last fight according to his current UFC contract. For his last fight, Diaz is looking for a huge payday and a fight against Poirier would mean just that for him.
