‘President of 170 Lbs’ Kevin Holland Details His Fighting Journey

Kevin Holland has had a long and considerably successful mixed Martial arts career. Holland has a robust career record that reads 23-9. He is a proven performer and has been known for his striking and grappling abilities. In a recent talk with the Instagram podcast page ‘Real Eyes Recognize Podcast’, Holland recounted his initial days as a pro fighter. He remembered how he established his authority in the 170 lbs pound division challenging other fighters. His challenge from him drew a lot of attention from other fighters and ‘Painted a target’ on him.

Holland was already at a 12-3 record when he was signed for the UFC. ‘Trailblazer’ took it upon himself right from his fight to find fights for himself. Holland was last seen in his fight against Stephen Thompson in December 2022. Holland lost that fight in a TKO after his corner called off the fight. He still got the fight of the night award for his fight.

Kevin Holland made the most of his Debut

Kevin Holland didn’t have a smooth childhood. His mother kept getting in and out of the jail. When Kevin Holland got a chance at Pro MMA, he wanted to make the most of it. Talking about the initial days, Holland said, “as soon as I get my first pro fight fu**** so much sh** happened to even get to my pro fight. Soon as I had it, I was like, alright, let’s make the most of it.”

Further, he mentioned how he grabbed the opportunity. ‘The Trailblazer’ said, I am the President of 170 pounds” “F*** you if you don’t like it, call a local promoter, and we can fight. And like that just started it and it was like yeah, put a target on myself and I was enjoying it. I was getting fights left and right. I was fighting every month. It was awesome.”

Holland recovering from an injury

Holland fought Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night in Orlando. While the duo delivered an exhilarating fight, ‘Wonderboy’ got his hands raised after Holland’s corner threw in the towel when it was found that Holland suffered multiple fractures on his metacarpal bones. The injury happened when Holland tried to land some punches on Thompson during the first round.

Nevertheless, Holland’s coach Oran Hodak, he is now getting better, and the recovery is as per expectations. Fans would love to watch the ‘Trailblazer’ back in the cage soon. Are you excited about Holland’s return?
