Charles Oliveira became the UFC Lightweight champion when he defeated Michael Chandler at UFC 262. The fight which was touted to be one of the best of the night delivered on the promise. The fight may have ended in two rounds, but during that time, it was a treat to watch.
Oliveira hit a perfect left hook to ‘Iron’ in the second round and won the fight via a TKO. After this victory, Oliveira did not just win the title but ended up setting multiple records. Oliveira became the 11th UFC lightweight champion after stopping Chandler in round two.

Even before this fight, Oliveira held the record for most submission victories (14) in UFC history. Now with his victory over Chandler, he also holds the record for most career finishes (17) in UFC history. Oliveira is also now second in the all-time UFC Fight night bonuses list with (17), just one behind Donald Cerrone.
Charles Oliveira set an incredible record after his victory against Chandler
After Oliveira won his fight against Chandler, he moved into the Top 10 for most UFC fights with 28. ‘Do Bronx’ also moved into the top 10 for UFC career wins (19) and winning streak (9) list.
While all these records did not come as much of a surprise, there was one record that completely stood out. Oliveira set the record for most fights needed (28) to win a title in the UFC. This record had earlier belonged to former middleweight champion Michael Bisping who had taken 26 matches to win the title.
