VIDEO: Fighter Suffers Gruesome Elbow Injury Just a Couple of Minutes Into His Nightmare UFC Debut

UFC Fight Night 200: Strickland vs. Hermansson had fans excited about the main event between middleweights Sean ‘Tarzan’ Strickland and Jack ‘Joker’ Hermansson. It was something that would clear the picture at the 185-pounds division. However, the event got off to a gruesome start.

In the opening bout of the night, flyweight Denys Bondar’s elbow popped out amidst his battle with Malcolm ‘X’ Gordon.

Though ‘Psycho’ Bondar walked into the match as a clear favorite, it was the underdog ‘X’ who started the fight as the aggressor.

Bondar ran up to only to get caught in a combination of right and left hooks. However, he was able to follow it up with a takedown attempt. Despite that, Gordon came out on top and then tried to get ‘Psycho’ with an armbar submission lock.

During this attempt, Malcolm Gordon rolled over Bondar to set up his grip, but this ended up nasty as the elbow of Bondar’s left arm popped out due to all the tension.

UFC Fight Night 200: Results

Denys Bondar had his UFC debut at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, spoiled by a gruesome injury in the fight card’s opener. Meanwhile, referee Mark Smith awarded Malcolm Gordon (14-5) the win via a T/KO (injury) in the first match of the Fight Night event.

The result came at the 1:22 mark of the very first round of the flyweight clash. Apart from the prelims openers, there were six more finishes on the night- five came in the preliminary card, and two came on the main card.

In the main event, Sean Strickland extended his winning run to six with a split decision over Jack Hermansson.
