‘The American Gangster’ did not agree with the fan’s views and justified the reason behind it. He compared the two fighters on the pound-for-pound rankings. Sonnen said it would not at all be upset if ‘The Great’ wins; because he is the #1 Pound-for-Pound fighter for a reason. He, however, mentioned Holly Holm‘s head kicking Ronda Rousey to knock her out as one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, among a few others.

Sonnen rates Ronda Rousey losing To Holly Holm as the biggest upset

‘The American Gangster’ has seen a lot of close matches and has a very good understanding of UFC fights. His rating of Holm’s head kick to Rousey as the biggest upset could definitely be seen as a solid reference. In November 2015, Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm squared off against each other in the Bantamweight Division at UFC 193.

While the odds were heavily stacked against Holly Holm, it was Rousey who was left smelling the canvas at the end of the fight. In the second round of the fight, Holly Holm was able to land a near-perfect kick to Ronda Rousey’s head. It sent her down, ending the fight in Holly Holm‘s favor.
