Dana White Gives an Update on Nate Diaz’s UFC Return

Nate Diaz might not be a super-active contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, there’s no denying that he is still one of the biggest superstars the promotion has ever seen. Despite having no world title in UFC, Diaz draws huge PPV sales, thanks to his unprecedented mic skills and superstardom. Though he has been out of fights since his last appearance at UFC 244, Dana White believes that the ‘Stockton Slugger’ would fight again.
The Diaz brothers (Nick and Nate) have been two of the most prominent MMA veterans in UFC. Nick Diaz is currently retired, and Nate is only active in the welterweight division. Breaking a hiatus of almost three years, Nate made his UFC return against Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 and notched a unanimous win.
He returned soon against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 for the BMF belt. But, unfortunately, he faced a crushing defeat. Since then, Nate has been out of fights in UFC. Yet, UFC chief Dana White validated his resurgence into the promotion recently.

Dana White says Nate Diaz will fight again in UFC
Speaking to Kevin Iole, Dana White clarified that Nate Diaz will fight again. Kevin picked up a query for White and asked whether the ‘Stockton Slugger’ will ever step foot inside the octagon or not. To which, White said, “Oh. Definitely. I think Nate will fight again,”
However, it is still not clear when Nate would return or whom would he face next. According to speculations, Nate Diaz is expected to rematch Jorge Masvidal. The rematch has been on the cards since the original contest materialized. Yet, no official update has been provided on it.

The upcoming opponent of Nate Diaz
Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz have high probabilities of re-encountering each other inside the octagon. Meanwhile, the trilogy bout between McGregor and Diaz has also been around for years. Nate has teased at both the possible rematches several times. However, he is still far away from materializing those bouts.

Other than Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal, Dustin Poirier was also scheduled to meet the younger Diaz inside the UFC cage. The duo eventually met at a presser and the bout was finalized. But the lightweight contest fell apart after Nate Diaz reportedly pulled out from the contest.
