According to reports, fighters on the UFC London card will be compensated after the event was canceled. COVID-19 has successfully managed to ‘Knock-down’ major sporting events, and UFC London was no exception. The card was set for March 21st at the ‘Big-smoke’. However, because of various social-distancing protocols, this event never came into fruition.
Fighters, media, and fans raised valid concerns regarding the compensation of fighters on the card. However, keeping in mind the expensive training camps, personal chefs and the risks, the organization will restitute the fighters. Unfortunately, UFC had to cancel the main event involving Tyron Woodley and Leon Edwards, resulting in a major financial blow.
Several fighters have come out to support the UFC after news broke out of the compensation.
“Thanks to the UFC for taking care of me for the London card situation, I’ve been all in from day 1 in this and it’s good to see that even in hard times like these the work I’m doing is being recognized,” Said Marvin Vettori
