Dana White made multiple major announcements during his appearance on ESPN’s SportsCentre. White announced the signing of free agent Michael Chandler into the UFC. The other major news came when Dana White said that he is working on some “fun stuff” for Conor McGregor.

Conor McGregor announced his retirement earlier this year when he felt tired from waiting around. However, just like his previous two attempts at leaving the sport, fans had speculated a comeback from the Irishman. Consequently, Dana White was peppered with a question or two about “The Notorious One” in every other interview that he had.

The UFC President, at one point, seemed to be put off by the recurring mention of someone who has retired. He reiterated time and again that his focus was on putting up fights every week for fighters on the roster.

However, while talking to ESPN, White responded to the question of Conor McGregor very differently.

“We’re actually working on some fun stuff for Conor at the beginning of next year. He should be back next year. I’m not saying he’s coming back to fight guaranteed but we’re talking right now about some stuff,” the UFC President said.

Conor McGregor has been in the news recently for not the right reasons

The former UFC double champ last stepped inside the Octagon in January earlier this year. It only took him forty seconds to knockout Donald Cerrone. “The Notorious One” wanted the year 2020 to be a season. However, COVID-19 played a spoiler to his fans as the UFC wouldn’t want a Conor McGregor fight in an empty arena.

As of late, McGregor made headlines as the police arrested him for exposing himself in front of a woman. Both his manager and lawyer strongly denied any wrongdoing on his part.

The double champ also took to social media to post a strong message to everyone who has accused him falsely. Given everything going on with him, it may be the case that McGregor is seeking an escape in what he does best – fighting inside the Octagon. While Dana White didn’t clearly mention fighting, any news related to McGregor is more likely to be about something significant.
