Henry Cejudo really wants to cement his legacy as one of the best fighters to step inside the Octagon. He feels a vital aspect of his journey is to defeat Jose Aldo. Hence, “Triple C” will go to any extent to bring the former Featherweight champ back into the USA.
The UFC had booked Cejudo vs Aldo for UFC 250. The event was originally scheduled to take place on May 9 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Unfortunately, the event fell prey to the ongoing pandemic and was canceled. Since Aldo couldn’t make it out of Brazil, Cejudo was instead booked to fight Dominick Cruz.
However, it seems that Cejudo isn’t over the Brazilian. He has mentioned his desire to fight Aldo after he takes care of the business at hand.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Cejudo said that Aldo still isn’t out of his sight. “I told Dana White, I’ll take this fight with Dominick Cruz but I don’t want to leave Jose ‘Baldo’ off the hook,” he said.
“If I have to marry him to fight him, then I will do that. I will literally marry the dude to take the dude out. He’s having visa issues … I will get on one knee to beat his ass.”

He had held the Flyweight title at the time as well. However, he later relinquished the 125-pounds belt, focusing solely upon Bantamweight. Contrary to expectations, that didn’t result in any defense of the belt anytime soon.
Instead of focusing on upcoming contenders like Aljamain Sterling or Petr Yan, Cejudo instead has turned his attention on veterans. According to Cejudo, he has fought several champions in the past. Hence, he feels he has earned the right to go for a legacy fight instead.
