“Sugar” Sean O’Malley put on a sweet performance at UFC 250 as he extended his undefeated fight streak. He knocked former WEC Bantamweight champion, Eddie Wineland, out cold in the first bout on the main card.

The 25-year-old has already garnered quite a reputation because of his naturally emanating style. Ever since his arrival in the UFC, all his fights have been nothing short of entertaining. Yet again, he displayed amazing skills and speed as he looked to bring his opponent down.

After executing a failed spinning kick to the head, O’Malley demonstrated exceptional hand speed. He feigned a right uppercut, immediately bringing forward his left hand, and instead of landing the left, he drilled the right hand straight into Eddie’s jaw. The speed with which he feigned and quickly dished out a devastating strike with the same hand sent Wineland crashing into the canvas.

As soon as he connected, O’Malley knew he had hit gold. Instead of waiting to see if he needed to engage ground-and-pound, O’Malley simply walked off, aware of the destruction that he had just wreaked. The picture-perfect finish, according to Joe Rogan, was the best walk-off knockout ever.

And O’Malley knows just how great the shot was. In his post-fight interview, he said, “Yeah, I think it was worth a hundred [grand] rather than 50 [grand].”

At the offset of the post-fight interview, Joe started by saying, “This is a big step-up in competition for you.”

Surely, O’Malley has come a long way in a rather short time. His win over Eddie Wineland shoots up his credibility by a lot.

Moreover, the fact that he remains undefeated, too, adds to his value. He has said earlier that he is in no rush to become the champion. But when he does, he intends on staying on top and eventually be in the race for the G.O.A.T.

The win surely puts him on a much better pedestal in the Bantamweight division. However, whether he will carry on in the same fashion is what fans will not look forward to seeing. Do you see Sean O’Malley completing his journey to greatness successfully?
