Tony Ferguson won fans over with his steely determination amid the hiccups UFC 249 faced. He agreed to put his title shot on the line and instead fight for an interim championship. In addition, he cut weight as scheduled despite the event getting canceled.

‘El Cucuy’ made weight again three weeks later and featured in the main event on UFC’s return to live-action. The successful event gave sporting leagues the belief that they too could return, and the major sporting leagues subsequently made a swift comeback.

‘El Cucuy’ is yet to be booked in a fight, however the rumor mill is abuzz that he will fight Dustin Poirier in a lightweight title eliminator. Fans can take nothing for sure unless either the fighter or the promotion announces it.
