Jorge Masvidal knocked out Ben Askren with a flying knee in 5 seconds when they fought inside the octagon. However, it does not seem the story ends there. Ben Askren recently called for a rematch with Jorge Masvidal since he believes the 5 seconds with Masvidal does not necessarily confirm who is the better fighter.

Ben Askren said: “In that five seconds, we didn’t find that out. We found out Jorge has a fantastic knee and that I’m not invincible, but we didn’t find much else out. I think I can bounce back from that pretty quickly and hope that it happens.”

“Get some wins and we can do it #supernecessary”

Ben Askren has asked for “Thank You” from Jorge Masvidal for his meteoric rise in the stardom after the knockout win. And he responds to Masvidal saying the same:

It has been a wild ride for Jorge Masvidal since he has moved up to welterweight. The win over Darren Till, the three-piece and the soda incident with Leon Edwards and the rivalry with Ben Askren has made him one of the hottest stars in UFC at the moment. On the other hand, Ben Askren needs to get a couple of wins under his belt to rally for the title shot again.

Ben Askren takes on Damian Maia in the main event of UFC Singapore, while Jorge Masvidal takes on Nate Diaz for the BMF title. While it’s certainly possible that we are going to see a rematch between these two, it’s probably a few fights away from now.
