Former UFC dual champion Henry Cejudo shocked a bunch of UFC fans after he announced his retirement abruptly in the post-fight interview of his latest face-off against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. Henry Cejudo unveiled a spectacular performance that night and knocked out Dominick Cruz to retain his title. However, the 33-year-old hung his gloves in the contest’s aftermath.

ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani is not ready to accept that Henry Cejudo has completely retired from the sport. During his recent interaction with Daniel Cormier, Helwani revealed his prediction for the upcoming 135 lbs title mix and ended up adding ‘The Triple C’ in it.

Petr Yan captured the vacated UFC bantamweight title against Jose Aldo at UFC 251. As a result, the query of who will face him next prevails amongst the fan base. According to Daniel Cormier, no one deserves the title shot more than Aljamain Sterling at this point. Ariel Helwani equally agreed on that claim, but added some more “thrill” into the bantamweight title tale by predicting Triple C’s return shortly.

Ariel Helwani and Daniel Cormier open up on Henry Cejudo and his retirement

During his recent interaction with Daniel Cormier, Ariel Helwani stated that no one has had a bad retirement than Henry Cejudo in the UFC.

Unless they bring back Cejudo, I think Cejudo would be back at some point. No one has had a bad retirement than Henry Cejudo, like the guy just doesn’t go away. Henry, can we miss you for a second? Please, just leave us all alone, you are great, you are fun but stop it already,” said Ariel Helwani.

DC also joined the conversation by pointing out at Henry Cejudo’s social media antics.

“He (Henry Cejudo) tweets every single fight, Henry tweets every single fight,” said Daniel Cormier.

Despite being retired, Henry Cejudo has been consistent about calling out fighters from the active UFC roster. He also challenged Petr Yan after the Russian’s recent win at UFC 251.

Ariel Helwani took a note on it and said, “Calling everyone out, I thought you are retired, what’s going on here? But I think it should be Yan Aldo. The winner will fight Henry next year.”
