“I just need to be compensated if they want this fight. Simple as that. I’m a prizefighter and the prize needs to be right,” Poirier told ESPN.
The event will take place in Abu Dhabi in the UFC’s second outing to “Yas Fight Island,” per confirmation by Dana White. Chiefly, the fight will have to be booked and finalized quickly given the relatively short window to UFC 254. The UFC will certainly be keen to book the aforementioned fight as it further bolsters an already stacked card.

Additionally, he has been booked to face Khabib Nurmagomedov on multiple occasions and will be keen to make that fight.

Dustin Poirier returned to the win column after he won the day against a game contender in Dan Hooker. Poirier was returning to action after the longest lay-off of his professional career after falling to “The Eagle”. He looked like an improved version of himself when he faced Hooker back in June.
Dustin has scalped victories over some of the most prominent names in the history of the lightweight division. Given his 5-1 record since November 2017, he’s a perennial contender regardless of the way things play out. The UFC and MMA fans will look forward to seeing this highly explosive match-up get added onto UFC 254.
