Khamzat Chimaev has been the talk of the town ever since his UFC debut in July this year. The undefeated Swedish MMA prospect made another statement on Saturday night.

Chimaev’s two wins in the UFC have been extremely grappling based. However, on Saturday, Khamzat Chimaev proved that he has more to his game than ‘just wrestling.’

A 17-second KO over Gerald Meerschaert won Khamzat a lot of fans. In the process, he set a record for the least time taken (66 days) to amass 3 wins in the UFC. This, however, did not sit well with ‘Big’ John McCarthy, who voiced his opinion on his podcast ‘Weighing In.’

McCarthy said, “The only bad thing in this is the UFC is trying to push him and I don’t blame them. He’s a stud. This guy is a stud. But the first thing they say is if he wins this, he’s the first one to win 3 fights the fastest. I’m like come on man! You’ve got better stats to come up with than fake stats.”

‘Big’ John then said, “There used to be tournaments okay. People can say whatever they want. About old guys, new guys, modern era, pioneer thing. Look, UFC was set up on guys who were fighting 3 fights a night. Then 4 fights, then it all went back to three fights for a long time.
