UFC Fight Night 173 just redeemed the falling UFC flyweight division, and has a new 125 lbs champion in Deiveson Figueiredo now. However, not acording to ‘Triple C’ Henry Cejudo. No, Henry Cejudo did not lash out at the new UFC flyweight champion. Neither did he fail to congratulate the newly crowned Brazilian. Yet, Henry Cejudo posted a cheeky tweet that claims Figueiredo as the Interim Champion.

Needless to say, the UFC flyweight title was left stranded with no titleholder after Henry Cejudo vacated it in 2019. While Deiveson Figueiredo has already cemented himself as the new UFC flyweight champion, Cejudo doesn’t consider him as a valid one.

Henry Cejudo mocks Deiveson Figueiredo after his recent title win

Olympic gold medalist and former UFC dual champion, Henry Cejudo, took to Twitter and congratulated Figueiredo on becoming the Interim champion of his division. Not only that, but Cejudo also taunted the newly crowned bantamweight champion, Petr Yan.

Cejudo wrote, “Congrats to the second Interim UFC champion this week” referring to Petr Yan and Figueiredo’s respective title wins. Since Henry Cejudo vacated both titles, he doesn’t validate the new respective titleholders. Despite retiring from the sport, Cejudo has frequently teased a potential return. And this might be the green signal of his resurgence.

Cejudo also hinted at a potential matchup opposite featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, a few days ago. Yet, he has announced his return officially.

Further, several MMA pundits believe that Cejudo is still not done with the sport. Thus, it won’t be surprising if the ‘Triple C’ breaks his retirement to claim a world title at UFC again.
