The defending Australian Open champion, Wozniacki has twice been a finalist in the US Open. The three of the top-ten seeds, including Halep, Danish player Caroline Wozniacki and the Wimbledon semi-finalist, Julia Gorges have ended their tenure at the 2018 US Open championship.

On the men’s circuit, the tennis professionals, namely the defending champion, Rafael Nadal, the 20-time major champion, Roger Federer and the resurgent king, Novak Djokovic have been dominating the sport for almost 14 years now and to no one’s surprise the three ATP men are still the favourite faces of this year’s US Open.

Along these three men and few other top-ten professionals’ dominance is creating an obstacle for the next generation to established themselves in the field of tennis. But despite the supremacy of the GOAT tennis players, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem, Juan Marin del Potro, Alexander Zverev, and Kevin Anderson have managed to flourish on the ATP Circuit this year.

Unlike the men’s single, the women’s arena has had diverse Grand Slam champions over the past few months, since the time Serena Williams went on her maternity hiatus. Williams has revived on the professional tennis courts as she reached the finals at the Wimbledon this year and in the 2018 US Open she sets up the third round clash against her elder sister, Venus in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
