Ronnie Coleman, the bodybuilding legend, shares how much money bodybuilders spend preparing for a competition. He shares his opinion on how the prize money isn’t really much. He also shares how much he earned from endorsements when he placed ninth or tenth. 

Ronnie Coleman is a bodybuilding legend and has won the coveted Mr. Olympia title for eight consecutive years. He is said to be one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Coleman is also regarded as the strongest bodybuilder of all time.

Ronnie Coleman opens on the preparation expenses!

In an interview earlier this year, Ronnie Coleman shares his opinions about the expense that a bodybuilder has to do on average in order to compete in the Mr. Olympia competition. He shares how a bodybuilder at least needs to spend around $20,000 on each show. And once a bodybuilder starts winning, the cost goes up to around $50,000, thanks to additional expenses, like hiring a nutritionist.

Moving forward, he shares that after winning the competition; he got around $110,000, which is not much, according to him. He says, “That Ain’t No Money.” Coleman says that isn’t really enough when one has to spend so much beforehand to be at the top.

Coleman makes it clear that he got most of his money from endorsements. He used to get around $15,000 from endorsements after placing ninth or tenth. Over the years, he has had many endorsements given his hugely successful bodybuilding career.

Coleman can no longer walk unassisted!

Throughout his career, Ronnie Coleman has undergone many surgeries. In June 2020, Coleman announced that he could no longer walk unassisted due to botched surgical procedures. Many of his surgeries are believed to be questionable and hence, that led to this condition of the legend. He shares that his last three surgeries cost a total of $2 million!
