The comeback of Tiger Woods to the Masters ended with a six-over 78. The legendary golfer returned to the sport after spending nearly 16 months away from it. Hence, it was a moment that symbolized him from start to finish. Woods never backed down from a challenge. Back in 2018, his ex-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn talked about how Woods was ‘stubborn’ and did things in his own way.

Even though he returned to the golfing picture, Woods could not repeat the 2019 Masters win, although his love for the game is still up there, unmatched!

Lindsey Vonn reveals Tiger Woods’ personality

Just like Woods, Vonn is a legend of the Alpine Skiing circuit. She won four World Cup titles and is one of the best skiers in the sport’s history. Just like Woods, she had an incredible number of injuries but was determined to perform every single time. From her experiences, Vonn described how she tried to convince Woods to listen to her. Back after he announced his return for the Hero World Challenge, Vonn spoke about wanting him to stick to this and win tournaments. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Vonn shared her story.

“Sometimes, I wish he would have listened to me a little more, but he’s very stubborn and he likes to go his own way,” said Vonn.

Doing this in his own way, that return proved to be the right decision. Following that, he won the 2019 Masters tournament and won his 15th Major title. It was just an incredible return to the sport, and yet again, pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

A great comeback from Woods

After suffering a car crash back in February 2021, Woods made a comeback to the sport he loved. Despite having serious leg injuries, he returned to compete in the prestigious tournament. Due to a lack of fitness, the golfer was not up to scratch. He carded a six-over-par 78 on Saturday, his worst score in a Masters round. After that, he finished with the same score at the end and ended on 13-over.

But, he is far from over. Woods is preparing to play for the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews, Scotland in July. Like Lindsey Vonn mentioned, his legacy is in his hands. That is certainly right, considering the success he achieved in his career.
