“That 90 Seconds Changed My Life”- Lindsey Vonn Found Her Olympic Idol at the Age of 9

In the world of Alpine Skiing, there are a few skiers who are as influential as Lindsey Vonn. She dominated the sport for a long time and established herself as a legend of the sport. Like everyone else, she had a role model who helped her to kick-start her career, as well as start her foundation. It is none other than Picabo Street; the legendary skier who won a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
Having a role model like her, she spoke about spending time with her paved the way for her Alpine Skiing career. Thus, she talked about her experience of meeting the sensational skier.

Lindsey Vonn reveals her role model
As everyone has their own role models, it is great to see Vonn speak so gleefully about Street. The legend met Street at an autograph studying place, and it was the experience of meeting the 1998 olympic gold medalist, that paved path for Vonn’s foundation.

“Picabo Street was my idol growing up. I met her in autograph studying when I was nine years old. That 90 seconds changed my life. Because of her, I wanted to become an Olympian, and I went home that night and I told my dad that I want to be in the Olympics. We set out a 10-year plan, and we made it happen. I started the Lindsey Vonn foundation in 2015, based on my experience with Picabo Street when I was nine,” said Vonn.

Ski Legend Lindsey Vonn Takes Furry Family on a Luxurious Experience in the Sky
The Lindsey Vonn Foundation gives out scholarships and programming for kids. It helps them to reach their goals through various programs. Apart from meeting her to start with her foundation, she also influenced her to start a career in skiing.

A true champion
Vonn won her first Olympic gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and entered herself among the illustrious clan. However, she suffered devastating injuries that derailed her career for some time. Yet, Vonn returned to the Olympic Games in 2018 as she won her third Olympic medal.
The kind of impact that a world-class athlete gives to young kids is just incredible. Showing them to dream big, Vonn had her goals set at a very young age. To sum up, with her foundation, she helps the rest of the kids to be inspired like her. A great initiative from Lindsey Vonn.
