Athletics’ MLB insider was asked if Carlos Correa can sign a minor league deal, same as Jake Bauers. Notably, Jake Bauers was already a minor league free agent then, while Carlos is currently a major league free agent.
MLB insider replied, ”Minor league deals are permitted during the lockout, but only for minor league free agents. If a player became a free agent as a major league player — like Carlos Correa — he can’t sign any contract (major or minor) with a club. Bauers was a minor league free agent.”
