Even with no deals on the table, thanks to the lockout, Carlos Correa remains a top name in the headlines. However, with only rumors making the rounds, fans will wait for the lockout to end for a permanent update on his future in MLB.
However, given the delay in signing a deal, some thought Carlos might not end up getting what he wants. Notably, the former Houston Astros star is demanding a contract worth $300 million or more.

MLB insider discards the claims of a decrease in Carlos’ value
Before the lockout, Carlos Correa and Corey Seager were the top free agents for the shortstop position. Notably, Texas Rangers secured Corey on their side with a $325 million deal. Interestingly, post-lockout reports claimed teams like Cubs were skeptical about giving Carlos a long-term deal.
However, Athletics senior writer Ken Rosenthal has discarded the thoughts of a decrease in Carlos Correa’s demand. Ken said, ”I know fans are going to think ‘Well, maybe Correa will sign for shorter, because this has lingered and now he’s going to be available and a lot of the bigger free agents have signed, it’s going to be a mad-rush with all the free agents …’ But I don’t see that happening.”

He further added, ”And I don’t see Carlos Correa having his price drop simply because there was a lockout.”
“I still think he’s getting 10 years, I still think he’s getting $300 million-plus. And I believe he still might get over [Corey Seager’s $325M deal].”
New York Yankees can give Carlos Correa a huge deal

The New York Yankees have been the constant runners in the race to sign Carlos. Interestingly, a report had claimed that Yankees were close to signing a deal with the 27-year-old before the lockout. Not to mention, the team is the richest MLB franchise and has hardly spent anything in free agency.
Hence, the Yankees have a high chance of signing Carlos for a deal worth much more than what Corey secured from the Rangers. Although, some other teams can also put forward a $300 million above deal if they are willing to go the same lengths for Carlos.
