It’s been over four months since Boston Red Sox defeated New York Yankees in the Wild Card game. But seems like the former Red Sox pitcher Koji Uehara is still not over of that game, as the Japanese pitcher went on to criticize a Yankees pitcher.

Notably, on October 5th, 2021, Red Sox defeated the Yankees, 6-2, in the AL Wild Card game to advance to the American League Division Series against Tampa Bay Rays. That win meant the Red Sox have eliminated the Yankees in each of their last three postseason meetings, including the 2004 ALCS, 2018 ALDS, and 2021 Wild Card Game.

Gerrit Cole struggled against Boston Red Sox

In the 2021 Wild Card Game, the Yankees’ pitcher Gerrit Cole struggled on the pitch against the Red Sox and had one of the worst games of his career. Cole had surrendered two homers and three runs in two innings plus three batters. Red Sox’s shortstop, Xander Bogaerts, and outfielder, Kyle Schwarber, took Cole deep and tacked on runs against the Yankees’ bullpen.

Gerrit Cole is playing for New York Yankees since 2020. The Yankees’ pitcher previously played for Pittsburgh Pirates (2013-17), and Houston Astros (2018-19).
