The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) along with International Olympic Committee (IOC) has condemned Russia’s breach of the Olympic Truce prior to Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games. However, despite that, the Russian athletes will be allowed to take part in the Paralympics. Beijing is expecting a delegation of 71 Russian athletes who’ll be competing in the Winter Paralympics.
The IPC said, “As a politically neutral organisation, the IPC’s focus remains on the upcoming Games rather than the ongoing situation. The Olympic Truce demonstrates the relevance of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to bring the world together in peaceful competition, providing hope for a better future.”
