66-Year-Old Bodybuilder Granny Proved “It’s Never Too Late for Fitness” After People Told Her She Was Too Old for Bodybuilding

It’s never too late to start something that one desires something. 66-years-old Marlene Flowers is setting an example of achieving goals regardless of age. Flowers, who is popular as Granny Guns on TikTok, recently posted a video that showed an eye-rolling grandma shrugging off the disses thrown at her.

Marlene hopes to inspire older people to start training. Her video is a testament to her determination and focus.

Marlene Flowers says there is no age for bodybuilding

Marlene has accumulated nearly 400,000 followers and amassed over 16 million likes. She started working out at 58. And currently, at 66, Marlene has no intentions of stopping anytime soon. Her mantra is, “Don’t let fear stop you.”

Her TikTok post’s caption reads, “Me watching older people starting to go to the gym after I was told I was too old and competing at 65.” Flowers, donning a red tank top shows off her muscular finesse which exudes youth and vigor in the video.

Reflecting upon her stance on fitness at a later age, the bodybuilder is seen smiling and nodding as she realizes how everyone is being inspired to follow their own paths through her videos. The song ‘Changes’ is an apt choice for the video. She writes in her comments, “Proving it’s never too late for fitness, one of my greatest accomplishments.”

Marlene Flowers has the support of her fans. The lady from Washington almost got famous overnight. Gaining over 120,000 followers who collectively called her Granny Guns.

Praise from fans flooded the comments on her video. A fan wrote “So inspiring,” another added, “Hero”. Marlene, who is an auto-shop owner who works out on the side, has been told by her gym mates that she should try entering competitions.

“The people at my gym encouraged me to enter competitions,” said the fit grandma in one of her interviews with PGH City Paper. Marlene Flowers has been encouraging all her peers to get fitter. Her son is her motivation and trainer; who urged her to take an interest in bodybuilding. She started working out for health complications. Additionally, she was active as a youngster, having ventured into swimming and gymnastics.
