Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most iconic entertainers in the world. A legend in his sport, bodybuilding is not the only thing that defines him. He has been an actor, an entrepreneur, a motivational speaker, and a politician, too. Famously called ‘the Austrian Oak,’ Arnold’s most successful stint came as an action hero in the ’80s and ’90s. His roles in films like Terminator and Commando cemented his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

Having moved to politics, the actor lost almost all his ties with Hollywood. Although Arnold came back to do ‘The Expendables,’ it was a brief run. Arnold’s biggest ties with Hollywood come as his son-in-law and Marvel star Chris Pratt.

Arnold Schwarzenegger to join Marvel?

The tremendous global success ‘Iron Man’ saw in 2008 marked the rise of one of the greatest cinematic universes in cinema history. Having formerly struggled with two phases of movies, it was a do-or-die situation for Marvel, who struck gold. By the time they ended their third phase in 2019, they had already become the biggest banner in the world.

Naturally, every celebrity wanted (they still do) to be a part of the MCU. With the stage set for new recruitments for the upcoming phases, many A-listers were rumored to join the cast, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. The actor allegedly first met with Marvel’s, Kevin Feige, in 2021 to discuss a potential role in the films. The rumors are back again, and this time they say Arnold and Kevin are in talks about a potential role as a super villain. Kevin is famous for keeping things on the down-low and playing his cards close to his chest. But, it is alleged that Arnold may be cast in the role of ‘Titanium Man.’

Notably, the ‘Titanium Man’ first appeared in the comics in ‘Tales of Suspense’ #69 in 1965. Also called Boris the Merciless, he is a direct rival of Iron Man. The alleged role makes sense as phase 5 of Marvel has ‘The New Avengers’ lined up, which may incorporate the character.

Moving from one member of the Schwarzenegger family to another, Chris Pratt has been a star in the MCU since phase three. The beloved ‘Star-Lord’ first appeared in the movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and has since become an important member.

He was most recently seen playing his role in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and is supposed to make a comeback in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. But in a recent interview, the actor hinted that his time in the MCU might end with the ending of phase four. He said, “Don’t actually know what’s gonna come next. You asked whether or not I’m cognizantly, intentionally turning a page. The page is turning. Whether I want to or not. Because the franchises are over.”

Whether the members of the Schwarzenegger family will make an ‘MCU exchange’ in the coming years is still suspenseful. However, it would be great to see the father- and son-in-law go head to head against one another in the MCU.
