Instead, he explained how they could effectively use protein shakes, and meal replacement drinks, to lose weight. He said most people are critical of supplements because the advertisements hype them up to be something they are not. “But protein shakes, and meal replacements are an exception,” said Arnie.

“Research suggests they can help burn fat, reduce hunger, and improve your overall metabolic health,” wrote the Terminator actor. Schwarzenegger also said that even replacing one meal with a shake or a meal-replacement drink can beat the results of a standard weight loss diet.

It can “lead to an average of 5.5 pounds lost compared to a diet designed to help weight loss,” Arnie wrote in the latest edition of The Pump Daily. The five-time Mr. Universe also revealed the trick to incorporating meal replacements into one’s diet.

Arnold Schwarzenegger gave some crucial tips

The legendary bodybuilder explained that meal-replacement drinks work because they provide essential nutrients. However, most people “tend to be bad at preparing them or knowing what to eat,” he wrote. Schwarzenegger wrote people often underestimate how many calories they eat “by about 47 percent!”

Adding “milk, nut butter, lots of fruit,” and other ingredients drives up the calorie count of the protein shake. Hence, one must prepare a drink with at least 20 grams of protein and 200 to 400 calories for effective weight loss.
