Ronnie Coleman is one of the biggest bodybuilders in the world. Coleman has won eight Mr. Olympia titles consecutively from 1998 to 2005. Moreover, the world counted him as one of the biggest legends in bodybuilding. However, success doesn’t come without sacrificing the desires you had along the way. Similarly, Coleman made tons of sacrifices to attain what he is today.

The list of sacrifices he had to make is lengthy. It may seem easy to hear what one has to give to achieve excellence. But giving up the same desires and cutting time spent with your family for decades is demanding. The hunger to reach excellence is the only way you can make these sacrifices.

Sacrifices I had to make: Ronnie Coleman

Other than ignoring his desire to party, have drinks and date girlfriends, there was an enormous sacrifice Ronnie Coleman had to make during his career, ‘Family Time’. A person, irrespective of their position and work, wants to spend time with their family. However, in this case, Coleman couldn’t make time for his family on special occasions due to tight schedules.

He said“Man, there were so many sacrifices I had to make. There were many times that I couldn’t go hang with the family when we would have family outings like you know fourth of July, all these other family holidays. Sometimes around Thanksgiving and Christmas.”

Even though, all those times, he wanted to be with his family. The bodybuilder ignored his desire and decided to work hard towards his goal. That sacrifice among lots of others has made Ronnie Coleman an inspiration to millions.

Pain that Coleman had to endure post-retirement

Coleman had an outstanding career with eight Mr. Olympia titles and many others. He also received the Arnold Schwarzenegger Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. However, his extraordinary training sessions have resulted in unimaginable pain. Coleman has had more than 13 back surgeries and he has had to endure a huge amount of pain in the recent few years.

However, as usual, the legend is standing strong and facing all the challenges life is throwing at him. Although recently, Coleman revealed in a podcast about his stem cell treatment, which is giving him much better relief. It will be crucial to see how much comfort Coleman gets and for how long, from this treatment.

Indeed, sacrifices are crucial when it comes to achieving something larger than life. Coleman had made his part of sacrifices in his early life. However, the abundance of love he shared for training and bodybuilding made it a little easier for him to focus on his goal.
