Why did Arnold Schwarzenegger leave ‘The Celebrity Apprentice?’

Well, the one world answer to that question will be Donald Trump. It was because of the former US president, that the Terminator quit the show. Arnold released a formal statement saying, “Everyone – from the celebrities to the crew to the marketing department – was a straight 10, and I would absolutely work with all of them again on a show that doesn’t have this baggage.”

The actor further revealed that it was because of Donald Trump’s ongoing role as an executive producer that the show was receiving low ratings. Talking about his fondness for the show, Arnold added, “a really great opportunity, but “under the circumstances, I don’t want to do it again.”

“When people found out that Trump was still involved as executive producer and was still receiving money from the show, then half the people (started) boycotting it,” Schwarzenegger said.

The decision came as a shock given that 4 million to 5 million viewers watched the first season of the show featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Following Arnold’s departure from the show and the low rating issues, the makers eventually canceled ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’. Prior to the bodybuilding legend, the former US President Donald Trump hosted the show for 14 seasons until he became the president. The main theme of the show included contestants competing in business challenges and raising funds for charity.

Furthermore, in retaliation to Arnold leaving the show, Trump tweeted, “Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got ‘swamped’ (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT.”
